All science sections are in review mode.
Biology has just completed its first practice regents which we will go over in class.
Short test on Friday in Biology: topics include environmental issues and ecology.

Chemistry is working on practice regents.

Students should organize all materials; notes, study guides, books, etc and study each and every night... Finals are around the corner.

Chemistry Notes for 5/10-5/12

Conjugate base pairs and titration are the main topics

Sample: Conjugate base pairs: HNO3 + H2O - H3O+ + NO3- determine conjugae base pairs:

HNO3 and NO3- : H2O and H3)+ are conjugate pairs

Titration problems use MV=MV formula, you are given 3 knowns and one unknown in which to determine the solution to the problem.

H30+ is called a hydrated proton and is known as the Hydronuim ion.

Biology Notes for 5/10 -5/12

We have looked at types of symbiotic relationships between organisms: Mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism.

Predator prey population interactions

Students need to know that communities make up ecosystems that in turns make up biomes that make up the biosphere that make up they ecosphere.

All major biomes should be studied: desert, deciduous forest, taiga, tundra, rain forest, marine, freshwater
